Another special air quality statement is in effect.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - The latest special air quality statement for southern Saskatchewan has come to an end.

According to the advisory, issued Friday afternoon, Environment Canada said wildfire smoke from fires in southern British Columbia is moving across southern Saskatchewan. Conditions were to improve by Saturday morning once a cold front sweeps across the area.

Several similar advisories have been issued for southern Saskatchewan this year due to wildfire smoke.

Environment Canada says concentrations of wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and vary considerably from hour to hour. Smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke.
