ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service made an arrest for an assault on the weekend.

The EPS report for Saturday said a 20-year-old man had been previously charged with a number of Criminal Code offences involving a victim. He was released on conditions of no contact and further failed to attend court to answer to the charges. The court had issued arrest warrants.

He was then reported to have assaulted the same victim again. The man was arrested and held for court on the outstanding warrants of arrest, along with a new charge of breaching release conditions and a further assault.

Police received complaint Saturday through the Report Impaired Drivers line. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle described by the complainant.

Officers received a report of criminal harassment and uttering threats. The matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a female loitering and asking the public for a ride back to Torquay. Members attended and spoke to the individual. She was warned of her behaviour. The woman was given a ride to a local business and made telephone calls for a ride home.

The EPS arrested a woman Friday night following a disturbance at an apartment building.

Police received numerous calls regarding an Estevan female in the hallway of a Trojan subdivision apartment building. She was reported to be screaming, swearing, banging on a door, and turning the power on and off.

On the first occasion that police attended, she was warned and sent on her way home. Police were called back a second time for the same behaviour. Members arrested the female for causing a disturbance and lodged her in cells due to her level of intoxication and to prevent further difficulties. As a result of her behaviour in cells, she has also been charged with wilful damage to police service cells. She was scheduled for court in early April.

Police were called to a local apartment building for a report of banging that the complainant thought might be another tenant in distress. Officers were able to determine it was the heating system in one of the vacant apartments in the building.
