Busy times for Carlyle 10 & unders

On Nov. 21st, 2010 the Carlyle 10 & unders headed to Arcola for their first matchup. A great game was expected and the fans were not disappointed. Arcola came out strong in the first and the Cougars found themselves down by 3 going into the second.

Some more blessed than others

Much like real life, there are those in politics who seem more blessed than others. But regardless of how blessed we feel we are, we should all be grateful at this very special time of the year.

Pee Wee Cougars take B side in Kipling tournament

The Pee Wee Cougars played in the Kipling Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 11. Despite the cold, the Cougars were hot, and ended up winning the B Side Final. The first game of the day was a thriller against Whitewood that ended up in a shootout.

Clinic welcomes new doctor

Looking back to one-year-ago, Arcola was battling through the temporary loss of its emergency and in-patient services at the hospital. There were no doctors working in the community - no one to tend to emergencies and no one to tend to patients.

My daughter picked my grandson up from day care the other day and got a surprise. My grandson loves day care. He can't wait to go play with his friends, and comes home with all sorts of stories about the fun he has.

Sorry I missed the deadline last week, it's been a busy time, off the ice and on, the Novice Cougars had 2 games last weekend to add to the Dickens fun, and kept us all hustling and bustling.

Weekly RCMP report

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 52 calls in the week of Dec. 3 to 9. On Dec. 3, members were drawn to a call of a MVA with a deer that occurred in the area.
