My wife and I went to a bar the other night to take in a show by a friend of mine who does lovely jazz standards. We got there early enough to eat, although - since my friend is a popular performer - our table was well back from the stage.

On Dec.8th the Bantam Cougars played host to the Carnduff Red Devils. Carlyle came out strong in the first period when Evan Anderson put the puck on Brett Turgeon's stick to score one minute into the game.

The village of Maryfield has been the site of a wonderful Christmas concert for many years. The brainchild of Maryfield resident John Van Eaton, the concert celebrated its 15th anniversary with the performance on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Happy birthday to me today! (I won't get to write that for a another few years.) Yes, my mom was oh-so-lucky to have given birth to me on New Year's Eve. So much for ringing in the new year.

The community of Manor held a Christmas concert at the United Church on Sunday, Dec. 19th. Many people young and old came out to enjoy the entertainment provided by members of the community. Albert Dunn was the emcee for the afternoon.

Dec18th &19th 2010 Busy weekend at the rink for the Novice Cougars again, Saturday the boys would face off against the Redvers A team. The fans were treated to a fast paced, nail biter of a game.
