Wyatt Lightfoot came home to Assiniboia as a multiple medal winner after competing in the World Dwarf Games hosted by the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, on August 4-12.

Centennial Park was full of tiny smiling faces on August 21 for Assiniboia’s annual Kids’ Day in the Park. The event was organized by the Recreation Department.

The Assiniboia and District Museum held an open house and farewell come-and-go tea for the museum co-ordinator Julie Newton on August 18. Newton had been with the museum since 2015 and will be moving to Regina.

The Old Wives Watershed Association held a workshop on the water quality for livestock on July 25 in Hazenmore. It proved to be a popular session with over 100 producers attending, said Tim Coloutier, a staff member at the OWWA.

The Saskatchewan Science Centre presented its Go! Science show at the Assiniboia and District Public Library on August 10.

The Shurniak Art Gallery in Assiniboia unveiled an exhibit of beadwork items crafted by Lizzie Ogle from Wood Mountain on August 5.

Despite rain delays in some areas, producers in the province now have seven per cent of the crop in the bin and seven per cent swathed or ready to straight-cut, reported Saskatchewan Agriculture for the week ending August 14.
