NORTH BATTLEFORD - The case against a Wilkie man facing weapons charges has been back in provincial court in North Battleford.
Lawyers for Darryll Sollosy, who faces assault with a weapon and several other weapons-related charges stemming from June 15, 2021 in Scott, appeared by phone ibefore Judge Dan O'Hanlon Monday.
It was a brief appearance, as the defence requested a two-week adjournment. The date of Jan. 19 was quickly agreed to and matters have been adjourned again to that day, at 11 a.m. back in provincial court.
The case had been dogged recently by problems Sollosy has been having in securing permanent counsel. There had been talk previously that Legal Aid might take his file on, but Monday Aleida Oberholzer who was back representing Sollosy.
Sollosy was not present; his attendance was waived for Monday's court date.
Sollosy's charges include assault with a weapon, careless transportation of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon without a licence, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a prohibited firearm in a vehicle, possession of a prohibited firearm that is not registered, possession of break and enter instruments, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, failing to keep the peace while on a release order, possession of a firearm while prohibited by release order, possession of ammunition while prohibited by a release order and possession of alcohol while prohibited by a probation order. The charges have yet to be proven in a court of law.
