According to Meadow Lake RCMP, they received a call on Jan. 29, 2022, that there was a woman in distress at a residence on 3rd Ave. West. When officers entered the residence they found an injured woman inside. The police investigation determined that she had been threatened and assaulted by multiple individuals earlier that day, then forcibly confined. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
When police were at the residence they noticed a large quantity of mail at the residence. They obtained a search warrant and seized the mail, which is believed to be connected to ongoing investigations into break-ins to mailboxes in Meadow Lake.
North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section and North Battleford Forensic Identification Services assisted with the investigation.
