Nicole Rancourt is officially nominated to run for the NDP in Prince Albert Northcote in 2024.

REGINA - The NDP have officially nominated Nicole Rancourt to try and win her seat back in Prince Albert Northcote.

Rancourt won the nomination by acclamation Thursday evening. A social worker, Rancourt had held the seat from 2016 to 2020.

Prince Albert Northcote has typically been one of the competitive races in the province in the last few provincial elections. In 2020 Rancourt lost to Alana Ross, who currently holds the seat for the Saskatchewan Party, by 195 votes.

Ross is seeking re-election and her own nomination is scheduled for July 26. The next provincial election is expected in the fall of 2024.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to represent PA Northcote once again,” said Rancourt in a statement. “The future of Saskatchewan is bright. We need a government that will listen to the concerns of our residents, and Prince Albert Northcote needs an MLA that will work hard to ensure the best future possible for our community.”

“I am so glad to have Nicole as our candidate in Northcote,” said Saskatchewan NDP leader Carla Beck in a statement. “I got the opportunity to see first-hand what a dedicated MLA Nicole was for PA Northcote. I’m so excited to get to work with her again!”
