The Canada Day and City of North Battleford centennial excitement has died down, and many of us are looking to the lakes or our own backyards for a place to enjoy the hot weather forecasted.

The premier summer event in Humboldt has come and gone for another year. The Summer Sizzler took over Centennial Park this past weekend, with everything from the midway to concerts to the always-popular demolition derby entertaining the crowds.

Elaine Will was just 17 when she had what she called "a nervous breakdown". She didn't sleep for a week. It was her last year of high school and she worried endlessly about getting good grades and going to a great university.

St. Augustine School may be in Humboldt, but for one day it became home to the world. On May 9 the school hosted its first ever Folk Fest, designed to teach students, teachers and others about cultures from all over the world.
