Medstead Multiple 4-H Club held general meetings on Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Jan. 12, Feb. 2 and March 2. A Cloverbud meeting was held Nov. 3. The foods group had their first meeting Nov. 11 and a second meeting was held in December.

The first time, I simply followed the signs saying "free cookies." There were cookies alright, but the Canadian Blood Services should really look up free in the dictionary. Free does not mean "in exchange for your blood.

Due to the stormy weather March 2, the Waseca 100th Anniversary Committee met Thursday evening, March 3 at the community centre. Upcoming fundraisers, the bingos, walkathon and Mother's Day tea were discussed.

Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day. There was no wind and the temperature rose to -12 C. It looked more as though spring might just be around the corner. Our best wishes to Jason Silvester, who has recently been spending some time in the hospital.

Card tournament planned

The Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 met March 1 for their monthly meeting. Nine members braved the cold weather to attend. Plans were made to cater to the ratepayers' supper April 8. The Feb.

The King drops by to entertain

"Pretty" is the word that best describes the first floor of our building. Red, pink and white Valentine decorations provided a cheerful setting for our party held Feb. 12. Fun prevailed over our choice of pool or shuffleboard mini-tournaments.

Notes from Pine Island Apartments

Dale and Debbie Kennedy of Lloydminster visited their mom, Theresa Kennedy. They were at the karaoke at the Legion clubroom. They stayed over and all had breakfast Sunday morning with Sam and Barb Kennedy.
