REGINA - The City of Regina has declared snow routes to be in effect.

The announcement was made Wednesday in response to the weather event that is expected to dump upwards of 10 cm of snow on the city this week. Effective 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, there is no parking along the snow routes until 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9.

What it means is there will be no on-street parking along identified snow routes during that 24-hour period. The snow routes are marked with blue signs featuring a white snowflake.

This parking ban will allow city crews to plow roads from curb to curb, which the city states will improve traffic flow and ensure roads are passable for emergency response vehicles. Vehicles which remain parked on the snow route during that time will be ticketed.

The city states that people looking for updated information on snow routes can download their free Sweep&Plow app or sign up for custom notifications at Regina.ca/snowroutes. Residents are also being urged to follow the City’s feeds on Facebook and X to find out when snow routes have been declared, and to look at the map on to find out where the snow routes are located.
