Scenes from I Love Regina Day

Cool and breezy day doesn’t quell the fun in Victoria Park for I Love Regina Day.

REGINA - It was a cool day outside but the temperatures didn't dampen the enthusiasm for I Love Regina Day in Victoria Park.

The annual event featured food, community booths, performances, as well as free BBQ burgers. Mayor Sandra Masters and members of council were on hand to hand out the burgers to the long line of people who showed up.

Saturday kicked off with the I Love Regina Run & Walk at 8:30 a.m. and followed with exhibitors and Summer in the Square at 9 a.m.; the live entertainment included an appearance from the Riders Pep Band and the Roughriders cheerleaders.

According to the city, I Love Regina was launched in 2002 and based on the successful I Love New York campaign, intended to shift residents’ attitudes towards Regina and improve the city’s image.
