The Preeceville Skating Arena was a busy centre as hockey teams took their turns in action on minor hockey day on January 23. The Preeceville IPs, the youngest team, was the first team on the ice as the youngsters took on the Wadena Jaquars.

The Preeceville Midget Pats defeated Prairie Storm, which plays out of Balgonie, in the first game of two-game, total-point series in the Pats’ run for the provincial title on January 22. The win was in front of a packed arena.

The Etomamie Valley Riders Club hosted is annual awards supper at the READ Club in Sturgis on January 22. Jacquie Olson, president of the club, was the master of ceremonies for the awards. Four seasons catering by Sharon Draper catered the meal.

The Federated Co-op continues to make improvements to make fuel a top priority for consumers. Sixteen new fuel tanks were shipped to the bulk fuel station during the week of January 18.
