The Prairie Garden Greenhouse in Ketchen will be under new ownership and at a new location when it opens in the 2018 season. The greenhouse will be renamed Hazel Blooms, in its new location.

The Preeceville School, in conjunction with the Preeceville wildlife club, hosted a fish release party at Lady Lake on June 10. The school had participated in the Fish in Schools program and successful raised 55 rainbow trout from the egg stage.

To live in rural Saskatchewan these days means to do without something else. Perhaps this isn’t so different than the norm in rural Saskatchewan for years.

The Preeceville School students and staff took the opportunity of the walk-and -roll incentive to walk or ride a bicycle to school on June 1. The group gathered at the Preeceville wildlife campground and walked back to the school as a group.

Students from the Sturgis Composite High School and the elementary school showcased their scientific projects to fellow students, judges, teachers and family members during a science fair on June 2.

Monte Perepelkin of Calgary has been a quadriplegic since a devastating dirt bike accident in 1999, and yet he was very comfortable naming his autobiography The Perfect Life.

The Sturgis Kinsmen club annual duck derby was another huge success with all 746 plastic ducks sold. The derby was held at the Sturgis Regional Park on June 4 with numerous families enjoying the afternoon of fun and friendship.

Thirteen graduates were honoured at the Sturgis Composite High School graduation exercises on May 26.
