The Preeceville Pats Midget hockey team took to the ice in its first home game of the regular season with a 5-4 win over Yorkton Remax midgets on November 1. Preeceville struck first early in the first period to take a 1-0 lead.

The Preeceville and Sturgis junior boys volleyball teams co-hosted the East Central District Athletic Association playoffs in both Preeceville and Sturgis on October 28 with eight teams participating.

Members of the Wa Wa Shriners of Yorkton visited the Preeceville School and Sturgis Composite School on October 25 to promote fire safety and to present their stop burn injuries program.

The 1 2 3 Care For Me Daycare Halloween toy bingo held in Sturgis on October 29 was said to have been fun for all ages. "There were approximately 50 children in attendance," said Rhonda Olson, one of the organizers.

Sigmund Brouwer, the writer in residence at the Preeceville School, shared some valuable writing strategies and stories with grades 3, 4, and 6 students during his visit to the Preeceville School on October 24.
