Last week an event was held in Regina which was a signal there is still a good future in terms of farming on the Canadian Prairies. As part of the Canadian Farm Progress Show, Saskatchewan鈥檚 Outstanding Young Farmer Award was presented.

The Sturgis Trojan U-16 and U-19 lacrosse teams each brought home a silver medal from provincials held in Saskatoon on June 16 and 17.

In what they described as 鈥渜uite an honour鈥�, Jordan and Jennifer Lindgren of Norquay were named the winners of the Saskatchewan Outstanding Young Farmer award on June 21 at the Western Canada Farm Progress Show in Regina.

The Sturgis sports grounds were alive with action when eager fans took to the grounds for the Sports and Rodeo weekend on June 23 and 24. The weekend kicked off with a pancake breakfast at the Sturgis READ Club.

The Family Resource Centre has a new location that encourages participants to feel at home. The centre is located in the Sturgis Elementary School and officially opened to the public in January and hosted a barbeque lunch on June 20.
