Parkland U18 Expos visit Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Twins for pair

The Parkland AAA U18 Expos were in Estevan Saturday for a doubleheader against theÂ鶹´«Ã½AVEast Twins.

Things were looking good for the visiting Expos in Game one as they scored five third-inning runs to take a lead Ryan Rathgeber and Broden Bilokreli driving in runs in the frame.

But, the hometeam battled back, eventually winning the game 6-5.

In the bottom of the sixth inning the Twins tied things up at five when Mason Fichter singled on a 0-1 count, scoring a run.

Jake Smolinski led things off on the hill for Twins. He lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out three.

Ryan Erb recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Evan McCubbing wason the hill for the Expos. He went six innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out five.

Carter Phythian threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Exposracked up nine hits in the game, with McCubbing leading the way with four hits in four at bats.

In game two things again went the way of the home side Twins.

The Expos opened scoring in the first inning, on an error.

However the Twinspulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning led by Brody Dorrance doubling on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Mason Fichter earnedthe win for the Twins. He surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out five.

Ryan Rathgeber took the loss for the Expos. He went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four.

On a positive note for the visitors, the Exposdidn't commit a single error in the field.
