LCBI Bisons win regional soccer championship in Outlook

Team now headed to Provincials this coming weekend.

OUTLOOK - LCBI High School in Outlook was the scene of a lot of activity over the October 18-20 weekend as the facility was hosting its annual Homecoming events to a large number of past graduates and families.

In the midst of all the events and activities that had been planned, student athletes took to the field on Friday and Saturday as the school was the host of the 3A Boys Regional 'B' Soccer playoffs, welcoming teams from Stoughton, Wynyard, Maymont, Langham, Moosomin, and Lake Lenore.

Kicking the games off on Friday, October 18, LCBI first played Stoughton, managing to take the victory at a score of 2-0. The other two games played that day included Wynyard beating Maymont at a score of 7-3, followed by Langham defeating Moosomin at 3-2.

The next day, the winning teams advanced further into the competition, which saw the hometown Bisons defeat Lake Lenore at 4-2 and Langham defeat Wynyard at 6-4.

This brought the final game to be decided between LCBI and Langham, and by the time it was all wrapped up, the home team was victorious as the Bisons defeated Langham at a score of 3-1.

This makes the LCBI Bisons boys soccer team the Regional 'B' Champions, and the victory allows the team to enter the provincial soccer event, with the 3A Boys championship scheduled to take place this coming weekend in North Battleford at Centennial Park Field. LCBI plays Waldheim on Friday afternoon, with the advancing teams going on to Saturday's deciding games.
