The football career of Dominic Lepowick is heating up. The YRHS Raider Gridder has been picked up by the Okanagan Sun for the coming season.

Lepowick said that he is excited to get out and play again, and excited to move out to B.C. to play as well. While there were a few options for Lepowick to go to the next level, he felt that the Sun was the best fit.
听
鈥淥verall, I think that was just the best fitting place for me to go, because they have a great development program for players like me who are just coming in out of high school.鈥�
听
He is the second prospect from the Lepowick family to join the Sun, as his older brother Dylan also signed with the Sun last year. While his brother hasn鈥檛 been able to give him too many pointers for the coming season, as last season was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, he said that he鈥檚 aware that the training will be hard and he will have to get his cardio up, so that鈥檚 what he鈥檚 been doing. He said that they are lucky the gym is open, so he鈥檚 been working hard to stay in shape so he鈥檚 ready for the upcoming season, and he has been running a great deal as well.

Of course, having two members of the family on the same team isn鈥檛 just great for them, but also great for their parents.

鈥淭hey only have to cheer for one team,鈥� Lepowick joked.

There are many Raider Gridder players moving on to the next level, and Lepowick said it shows just how good the program is. That the interest from scouts and coaches shows that they really earned the Provincial title and it wasn鈥檛 just a one-off.听

鈥淚t really proves that we had good teamwork and we really showed it.鈥�
听
But the most exciting thing is the chance to get out and play again. Lepowick, like all students, was unable to play for the past year due to COVID-19 restrictions, so he鈥檚 hoping that they will be able to get on the field as soon as possible.

Football will not be the only pursuit for Lepowick, as he will also be attending school for business.
