“I checked my ticket on the Friday after the draw,” he said. “I saw all of these zeroes come up on the screen and I had to check the ticket multiple times before I realized it was telling me I won $100,000.”
“I went home, sat at my counter and kept saying, ‘I think I won $100,000… Did I win $100,000?’” he continued. “I decided to take the ticket to another store to double check – it was really hard to believe.”
The winner said he hasn’t made any plans for his windfall just yet.
“I could use a new truck,” he said. “But I’m getting pretty close to retirement, so I think I’ll just put the money in the bank.”
“I’m not going to hurry into anything right now!”
Sullivan purchased his winning ticket from Union Grocery, located 855 Athabasca St. West in Moose Jaw. He won his prize by matching the last six digits of the Extra number on the Sept. 22 draw.
