Loreburn School Holding Leadership Day

Event highlights student "Leader In Me" qualities

Staff and students at Loreburn Central School are gearing up for their fourth annual Leadership Day, a morning-long event that is scheduled for Thursday, March 30.

The event puts a spotlight on the "Leader In Me" program, and demonstrates how it shapes the way that Loreburn students work and interact together at school.  The program is billed by the publisher as a "whole-school transformation model" that gives students the necessary skills to succeed in the ever-changing 21st century.  It focuses on three key areas: teaching students to be leaders and working it into their daily lessons; encouraging staff and students alike to have a voice in their schools; and making the students active agents in their everyday learning.

For the last few years, Loreburn's Leadership Day event has served as a celebration of the program and how it has been effective in the school.

The event will include registration led by LCS students, presentations by the student body, and classroom open house-style visits to see the Leader In Me program in action.
