CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 27 calls from Nov. 16 to Nov. 23, some of which included:
- one breach of peace,
- one criminal harassment,
- one lost and found,
- two mischiefs,
- one other provincial call,
- three traffic collisions,
- 15 traffic offenses, and
- three prisoners.
Arrest on warrants
On Nov. 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP arrested a man in Stenen for outstanding warrants of arrest from the Canora and Yorkton RCMP.
The man was wanted for possession of stolen property, failure to comply with a probation order, failure to attend court, and theft under $5,000. The man was released on an undertaking.
Admitted mischief
A woman turned herself in to the Canora/Sturgis RCMP on Nov. 21 for an incident where it was alleged she damaged a vehicle.
The woman was arrested for mischief and was in the process of being released, however she refused to comply with a condition of the undertaking to attend court. As the woman refused to attend court, she was taken into custody and appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on Nov. 22.
Warrants from four detachments
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP arrested a woman at her residence in Preeceville on Nov. 20 for having multiple outstanding warrants of arrest from the Canora RCMP, Yorkton RCMP, Wadena RCMP and Saskatoon Police Service.
The woman was remanded into custody on charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5,000, failure to comply with an appearance notice, and failure to comply with release conditions.
Damaged power line
On Nov. 20, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a damaged power line in the alley behind the 200 block of Main Street in Canora. The investigation determined the issue to be a cable line and there was no threat to public safety.
