CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 32 calls from Nov. 9 to Nov. 16, some of which included:
- one 911 Act call,
- three assaults,
- three disturbing the peace,
- three failures to appear in court,
- one false alarm,
- one harassing communications,
- two mischiefs,
- two suspicious persons,
- three traffic collisions,
- nine traffic offenses,
- one trespassing,
- one wellbeing check and
- two prisoners.
Police called to argument
On Nov. 14, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were called to a report of three men and a woman trying to fight outside a residence in Canora. Police attended and determined only an argument had occurred.
Broken property, arrest
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on Nov. 11 to a 911 open line at a residence. Police attended the call and learned an intoxicated man had broken property inside the home. When the man was arrested, he refused to comply with police and resisted arrest. The man was removed from the home and charged with assault, resisting arrest, and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
Snowmobile trespassing
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report of snowmobile trespassing on a field outside of Canora on Nov. 11. Tracks in the snow led police to a residence in Canora and a male youth was warned for trespassing.
Assault complaint
On Nov. 9, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to an assault complaint in Preeceville. Police attended a residence and located a man who had an outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to comply with a release order. The manwas arrested and later released.
