Canora RCMP: Erratic driving due to rowdy kids in the back seat

Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a white SUV driving erratically on Highway 9. The driver admitted he had swerved slightly after dealing with his children in the back seat.

Canora/Sturgis RCMP also dealt with theft from an unlocked vehicle, swiped signs and a drone.

CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 27 calls from Nov. 23 to Nov. 30, some of which included:

  • one 911 Act call,
  • one being unlawfully in a dwelling,
  • one Controlled Drugs and Substances Act call,
  • two mischiefs,
  • one other provincial call,
  • three thefts under $5,000,
  • four traffic collisions,
  • 13 traffic offenses, and
  • one prisoner.

Kids causing trouble

On Nov. 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a white SUV driving erratically on Highway 9. Police located and stopped the vehicle south of Canora. The driver admitted he had swerved slightly after dealing with his children in the back seat.

Lock your vehicle

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report on Nov. 25 of medication and other items that were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Canora. Police continue to investigate. 

Swiped signs

On Nov. 27, the Canora/Sturgis investigated a report that multiple “treaty land sharing network” signs were stolen in the RM of Buchanan between Nov. 22 and Nov. 27. 

Drone reported near home

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report that a child observed a drone hovering outside the kitchen window of a residence in Preeceville on Nov. 28. The drone was not located.
