Regina police determines death not a criminal matter

The name of the deceased person will not be released by the Regina Police Service.

REGINA - Update, Oct. 23, 2024, 11 a.m.: The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, has concluded that the death of an adult male, which was the subject of a previous news release, is not a criminal case.

Police and EMS were dispatched to a call for service at a home in the 1500 block of Robinson Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 22.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult male. Officers secured the residence and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit. Investigation has concluded that the death is non-criminal in nature. The name of the deceased person will not be released by the Regina Police Service.

Original Post, Oct. 22, 2024: The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, have begun a death investigation that occurred in the 1500 block of Robinson Street. Police and EMS were dispatched to a call for service at a residence in the 1500 block of Robinson Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 22. Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult male. Officers secured the residence and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crime Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit.

At this early stage of the investigation, there are no further details that will be released to the public. The victim’s name will not be released at this time.
