Members of the Weyburn Arts Council painted their first mural in Jubilee Park on Saturday, the beginning of a multi-year project to have all of the dugouts in the park painted with a mural. Logan Mainil provided the design of this first mural, and he also suggested the idea of doing murals in Jubilee Park.

This photo gallery shows some of the action of Weyburn U13 girls softball teams, the Weyburn Blue Sox and the Weyburn Jays, with the Jays coming out on top 18-8. A total of three girls softball games were played Saturday as part of the Eugene Emberley Memorial ball tournament.

Five Grade 9 Health classes from the Weyburn Comprehensive School did up drug information posters, as part of the end of their unit on drugs and alcohol, and 54 posters were put up on the fence for the tennis courts at Jubilee Park on Friday, so people walking through the park can read the information the students put together

June 1 was the first full day at the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show at the Weyburn exhibition grounds, and it included a visit by Premier Scott Moe and members of cabinet, and MP Pierre Poilievre, who is running as a candidate for the federal Conservative Party. There were also Legends of the 麻豆传媒AVeast Oilpatch and Hall of Fame inductees honoured, along with the Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year, Grant Fagerheim of Whitecap Resources, and Derrick Big Eagle as the 麻豆传媒AVeast Sask. Oilman of the Year.

Rain delays were the name of the games over the weekend in Weyburn, as the Weyburn Sr. Beavers first postponed their season-opener on Friday to Saturday for a doubleheader, and then the doubleheader was postponed to a later date. The Weyburn Motocross Association, meanwhile, was going to hold races on Sunday, and those also were cancelled, to a date not set as yet.

Local Ukrainian residents organized a lunch and supper fundraiser held at the Wheatland on May 22.

The cast of the musical "Grease" staged a flash mob as students ate lunch in the Colleen Weimer Hall on Wednesday. The spring musical will be performed at the Cugnet Centre on May 24-27 at 7 p.m., and on May 29 at 2 p.m., with tickets available at the Weyburn Comp School's office.
