The Pre-Kindergarten class and their Grade 9 buddies from St. Michael School in Weyburn enjoyed the warm sun at Weyburn's Young Fellows spray park on Wednesday morning. The buddies had fun in the water as they spent time together at the Don Mitchell Tot Lot.

Four players from the Weyburn Beavers ball club spent the morning at Legacy Park Elementary School, and this gallery of photos shows their time with a Grade 6 class, including meeting the provincial Scholastic Challenge winner, Farhan Mir, and asking for his autograph. The class studied Flight, and launched their own helicopters from the upper balcony to see how well they could fly.

The skies over the Weyburn area were lit up with an almost continuous flashing of lightning and rumbling of thunder late Saturday evening. This gallery features a series of photos taken as the storm advanced on Weyburn from the southwest, and dropped around 8-9mm of rain on the city and area, with some reports of pea-sized hail for a brief time.

This photo gallery shows a variety of busy activities at St. Michael School recently, ranging from a visit by "Leroy Brown", a corn snake, to classrooms, and a Grade 6 community service project where students raised money for different charities in the city.

Players and coaches were recognized during the awards night for the Assiniboia Minor Hockey Association.

The Grade 5 class of Tammy Manning from Assiniboia Park Elementary School took part in the May clay class on Friday, making a clay flower dish. They formed the petals and base, painted them and had them ready for firing in the kiln.

National Police Week encourages increased awareness and understanding between police and the communities they serve.

Junior and senior high school contestants from throughout Saskatchewan were in Weyburn over the weekend for the Weyburn High School Rodeo. The action began mid-afternoon on Friday and ran through to Sunday afternoon at the Weyburn Exhibition Grounds. The points earned here go towards the participants going to the provincial high school rodeo, and the National Finals later this year.

A Mother's Day Picnic was hosted by Grade 1 students at St. Michael School on May 11.
