Running back Ben Michel had 139 yards rushing and a touchdown. Running back Austin Knupp had 168 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Quarterback Ben Manning threw a 16-yard pass for a touchdown to Conner Kerr, and kicker Zack Schmidt scored a field goal. The Eagles had a total of 433 yards rushing in the game.
“This is a special team that we have this year, and it felt great to win,” said Michel. “We went out there and had a great game on all cylinders. It was awesome.”
“We had a great prep for the week, and knew what was coming, and what we had to do to win,” added Michel.
“It felt great to win. The intensity was good and our team came to play after a great week of practice,” said offensive line Evan Barsness.
“We prepared all week on the d-line and o-line to prepare for the Saints. I felt that we did really well at perfecting our plays and shutting them down,” added Barsness.
He added that since the Eagles finished the regular season undefeated, it was a strong continuation of their 5A football season, as they will now vie for the provincial title.
“It was a really intense game, but also a very fun game to play in,” said Knupp. “It felt great (to contribute) to the win.”
“Our next goal will be to come out with a win on Friday,” added Knupp.
The Eagles will now face the Greenall Griffins in the provincial finals, to be held in Regina at Leibel Field on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
