ESTEVAN - A long-standing and popular golf tradition in Estevan wrapped up Sunday evening at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course.
The Dave Price Memorial Horse Race began at 3:30 p.m. and continued well into the evening on the golf course's back nine.
Carson Harcourt of Kipling won the elimination event. He defeated Taysen Holt of Estevan on the 18th hole.
The horse features the 12 golfers who are part of the men's championship flight in Woodlawn's FrameTech Classic. Joining Harcourt and Holt were Chase Gedak, Jace Carlisle, Darien Herlick, Mitchell Matichuk, Dallas Lequyer, Shawn McNall, Ryan Stovin, Nolan Rohatyn, David Buttner and Jay Thiesen.
The two golfers with the highest scores on each of the first two holes were eliminated, leaving eight golfers remaining. Then the player with the highest score on each of the next seven holes was also finished, leaving only one golfer remaining.
A large crowd gathered on Woodlawn's back nine to follow the competition. It's the largest spectator event at the course every year.
The Horse Race is held each year in memory of Price, who died in 2015. He was an avid golfer and a big supporter of the horse race.
The FrameTech Classic will wrap up Monday afternoon. SASKTODAY.ca will have full coverage once it is finished.
