Gedak, Willerth and Hallberg lead at Woodlawn's FrameTech Classic

ESTEVAN - The first round of the annual FrameTech Classic at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course has wrapped up.

Chase Gedak has the lead in the men's championship flight after shooting a 3-under-par 69 in the first round. He holds a one-stroke lead on Jace Carlisle, Shawn McNall and Ryan Stovin.

Darien Herlick sits fifth at 71.

The field has also been decided for the Dave Price Memorial Horse Race, which pits the 12 golfers in the men's championship flight in a nine-hole elimination competition on Sunday, starting at 3:30 p.m.

Joining Gedak, Carlisle, McNeil, Stovin and Herlick are Mitchell Matichuk, Dallas Lequyer, Jay Thiesen, Taysen Holt, Carson Harcourt, David Buttner and Nolan Rohatyn.

Meanwhile, Roxanne Willerth holds the lead in the women's division after shooting an 87 in the opening round. She is one stroke ahead of Paige Wheeler. Devin Galvin and Tenille Wilhelm sit tied for third at 91.

The top nine golfers in the women's division are separated by just 12 strokes.

Rick Hallberg has the lead in the senior men's championship flight after shooting a 5-under-par 67 in the first round. He sits 13 strokes clear of Vince Marcotte, Trevor Gessner and Rob Peloquin, who each shot an 80 in the opening round.

There are 78 golfers in the men's division, 33 in the senior men's and 12 in the women's competition.

The tournament will resume tomorrow morning and the final round will be Monday. All three divisions will play three rounds this year.
