September is all about back-to-school - time to get back into routines, make lunches and go to bed early. And since there's so much to do and kids are still in summer mode, it's hard to make sure the family is focusing on learning.

Carlyle RCMP received 38 calls between Sept. 2 and 8. Here's a brief summary of reportable incidents. A complaint of harassing text messages was received from the Carlyle area. The matter is under further investigation at this time.

Family and friends gathered in memory of a loved one at the Carlyle Golf Course on Sept. 10. Individuals were on hand to participate in the dedication of a gazebo in memory of John Green, who was an active member of the Carlyle Golf Club.

Students are back to the books and back to the extra-curricular activities. The GFK Senior Girls' Volleyball Tournament was a big success. The Senior Girls finished 3rd in Tier 2.

Gordon F. Kells High School will play host to the 2011 Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHSAA) Provincial Golf Championship on Sept. 22 to 24.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of September 5 to September 11: Weyburn Police Service received 106 calls for service during the week. *On September 11, several young adults damaged bleachers in Jubilee Park.

The Weyburn Fire Department held their annual Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy Drive last weekend.

Fall 2011 enrolment is up at the University of Saskatchewan for the third consecutive year. To date, enrolment has increased 3.5 per cent over the same date last year.
