WEYBURN – The Weyburn Police Service responded to 57 calls for service during the week of December 6-12th, resulting in a total of 12 charges. Of the charges, five were under the Criminal Code of Canada, and seven were under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
On December 6, there was an assault that took place at the Weyburn Comprehensive School, and two females were charged with assault.
Numerous reports were received with information regarding frauds. Please be aware of who you are giving personal information to, and never give out credit card information or personal information to someone that you do not know.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on an individual for failing to stop at a stop sign on Dec. 10. This individual presented signs of being impaired by alcohol. The individual was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples resulting in samples more than twice the legal limit.
A motor vehicle accident occurred due to an individual failing to yield to oncoming traffic on Dec. 12. The driver of the vehicle who failed to yield was charged with failing to yield. One of the vehicles was not drivable, and no one was injured.
