The final co-accused in relation to the kidnapping from the May long weekend was arrested July 8 and made his first appearance on the charges before Estevan provincial court Judge Karl Bazin on Monday.

Mark L. Davis was picked up by the Burnaby, B.C. RCMP detachment, after he was alleged to be involved in the Estevan kidnapping, in which six local adults had already been arrested. Davis faces charges of kidnapping, extortion and assault with a weapon, among others.

Davis made an appearance on July 14 in Regina provincial court before appearing here. He was remanded in custody until Aug. 15.

In other court proceedings, Evan Garrow, who is charged with stealing a car, impaired driving and evading police, is awaiting a show-cause hearing. His matter was adjourned until July 28 during his appearance in court on Monday.
Four people who had been arrested and released following an EPS drug bust last month appeared in court. Each accused had their matters adjourned to later dates in August.

Michael Baguma was charged in relation to the bust. He was released under a recognizance with a number of conditions. On Monday he changed the address for his recognizance from Estevan to Calgary, and because he was leaving the province posted the required $1,000 cash bail following the change.

Hussein Saleh Daud, who was charged as a result of the drug bust but not arrested in the initial sweep, made his first court appearance on Monday. He faces two charges of trafficking ecstasy and two charges of possessing goods or currency obtained by crime. His matter was adjourned to Aug. 4 to give him time to get a lawyer.
