Police deal with thefts from local businesses

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of April 4 to 10: *During the early morning hours of April 9, police checked a vehicle in the 1700 block of Railway Avenue.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of April 4 to 10:

*During the early morning hours of April 9, police checked a vehicle in the 1700 block of Railway Avenue. As a result, a 23-year-old female from Kisbey has been charged with refusing a breath test. The accused will be making a court appearance next month.

*Police were called to a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of Bison Avenue on the evening of April 8. A male subject was removed from the home but no charges were laid.

*An accident occurred at the intersection of 18th Street and Highway 13 on April 8. Investigation by police resulted in a 26-year-old female from Weyburn being charged for leaving a stop sign before safe. No one was injured in the accident.

*On April 5, a vehicle was entered while parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Persons entered the vehicle and took several objects. Investigation is ongoing.

*Police received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the downtown area. Police located the vehicle and a 51-year-old male from Weyburn was found to be the driver. The driver has been charged with driving while over .08 and impaired driving.

*Police are investigating a theft from the Real Canadian Superstore that occurred on March 12. A video shows a person entering the store and placing items into a box and leaving the store without paying. Investigation into this matter is ongoing.

*Home Hardware reported the theft of a drill and power saw on March 31. The items were on display in the store window and taken by an unknown person.

*Police received 85 calls for assistance during this reporting period.
