ESTEVAN - It was a busy long weekend for members of the Estevan Police Service, as they had 70 calls for service.
A 24-year-old man from Weyburn was charged for driving while over .08 and driving while impaired after a traffic stop in west Estevan. He will answer to the charges in Estevan Provincial Court in May.
The EPS arrested one person for being out past his curfew, and he was issued a 72-hour driving suspension for testing positive for THC on a roadside screening device. He was also charged under the Saskatchewan Cannabis Control Act for possession of cannabis in a vehicle.
Officers also arrested two other individuals during the weekend for driving while under the influence of drugs.
The EPS arrested a 40-year-old man for public intoxication Sunday after a complaint in the Royal Heights area, and apprehended another male after a complaint of a disturbance at a residence. He was lodged in cells until sober and was to be released Monday morning.
Members received a complaint of a break and enter to a residence in south Estevan. No damage occurred.
Other calls included municipal bylaw complaints, driving and traffic infractions, and other reports of individuals failing to comply with their release conditions.
