ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service have handled a number of calls in the past few days.
Police received a request for assistance at a location in west Estevan on Jan. 18. The caller reported they were in a vehicle trying to leave and someone wasn’t letting them depart. The two parties went their separate ways prior to police arriving.
Members received a report of a dispute outside a local liquor establishment. Police attended and mediated the situation. All parties were sent home for the evening.
Police received a call on Jan. 17 through the Report Impaired Drivers (RID) line. The vehicle was located and a sample of the driver’s breath was obtained. He was found to not be impaired.
Police received a report in relation to an Estevan male being on conditions of release and breaching a no-contact clause. The matter is still under investigation.
Police received a report of a Regina man being unwanted in a residence and failing to leave when asked to do so by the homeowner. The man left prior to police arriving. He was located walking home and was spoken to in relation to the complaint. He was warned about his behaviour.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 39 near Sister Roddy Road. Road conditions were extremely icy at the time of the incident. Minor injuries were reported and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The matter remains under investigation.
A scam was reported on Jan. 16 involving Amazon. Someone called the complainant for information, but none was given. The scammer continued to call multiple times, but the complainant did not pick up. The public is reminded to be aware of these and other scams. They can be very persistent which is another indication of the call being a scam.
