EPS arrests four following a recent theft

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service arrested four individuals on April 11 for break and enter to a commercial property. 

Three of the individuals were charged and released from custody. The fourth individual was held in custody as there are already outstanding charges. The fourth individual was released during the day on April 12 on further release conditions before a justice of the peace.

Also that day, police attended to a disturbance in the Trojan subdivision. A female was arrested for mischief, obstruction and being intoxicated in a public place. The female was lodged for the evening and will be released when sober on charges of breaching prior release conditions.

Police received a request on April 12 from a government agency to do a well-being check on an individual that contacted them. They were concerned for the welfare of the individual.  The person was located at home and was found to be okay.

Officers received a report of criminal harassment over social media. The matter is still under investigation.

Members received a missing person/well being call regarding an individual who hadn’t come to work for a number of days. The employer was unable to make contact with them. Police investigated, located the individual and determined they were okay.

Police received a number of calls from an individual intoxicated and calling emergency services for no apparent reason. The individual refused to tell emergency services where she was located so they could check on her to make sure she was all right. The individual was located after a significant amount of time and effort was put in to her whereabouts. The caller was warned about public mischief.

The EPS is asking the public to exercise caution amid the storm. Travel will become increasingly difficult throughout Wednesday, the EPS said, with highway closures a near-certainty. The public is requested to stay off the streets and highways to ensure their safety during these blizzards conditions. It is imperative to allow emergency services and public works to do their jobs safely.
