ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were out in the community once again Saturday night for an SGI check stop program.
Motorists were checked for sobriety in a number of locations. EPS officers were joined by their colleagues from the Weyburn Police Service and volunteers from the Estevan chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
The EPS also posted a photo on its Twitter feed of a positive policing initiative, saying its members and MADD were out placing gift cards on vehicles that spent the night at some local restaurants and lounges because the vehicle owners opted for a safe ride home.
"Thank you from EPS and MADD for finding a safe ride home," the EPS said.
