ESTEVAN - Local emergency crews were called to a collision in east Estevan on Friday morning.

Members of the Estevan Police Service, Estevan Fire Rescue Service and Estevan Emergency Medical Services were called to a two-vehicle collision that occurred just east of the intersection of Fourth Street and Kensington Avenue.

Fire Chief Dale Feser said crews arrived on scene to find fluids were leaking, but entrapment did not occur and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters assisted with traffic control, and the scene was turned over to police to continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Road conditions were less than favourable due to the snowstorm that struck Estevan overnight, but Feser noted the snow Estevan received was nowhere near what other areas received. He did caution that Environment Canada says this snow event could last a couple of days.

“So we just want to make sure that the drivers are adjusting their driving conditions and habits to match the road conditions in the weather,” he said.

He reminded the public to always check the highway and road conditions to make sure they are favourable.

“And if you don't have to go please stay off the roads, as it's just as dangerous for us to be out there as it is for anybody else," Feser said.
