REGINA — For the first time since 2019 the Regina Dragon Boat Festival is back on.
The 30th festival runs Aug. 26 to 28 in Wascana Park. The event began Friday evening with 200 metre heats, and there were dragon boat races planned all day Saturday with teams competing in 48-foot dragon boats in the 200 metre finals, the 500 metre qualifying and finals and the 2,000 metre final.
Also planned for Saturday was a market trade show featuring over 50 vendors, as well as the cultural village and children’s village, and beer garden.
Entertainment on Saturday includes the Chris Atkinson Group, the Highland School of Dance, KG Harmonie, Jeffrey Gonzalez, the Sudah Srinivasan Group! Cultural Connections, and .the Regina Malayalam Association; Sunday features the Living Skies Irish Dance Performance, the Allu Hutsul Performance, RCCA Tai Chi Group, and the Blakey School of Dance.
