REGINA — Regina Police Service continues to investigate a series of collisions in the city’s northwest that resulted in injuries to a seven year-old child.
According to police, at approximately 8:36 a.m. on June 21, several police units were called to the 200 block of Dalgleish Drive in response to a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.
What happened next and the chronological order is still not confirmed and under investigation. Police say it is believed a truck, operated by an adult male, struck three parked vehicles and two fences. It was within this series of collisions that a child was struck and critically injured, say police.
The seven-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the truck was also assessed and taken to hospital.
Cst. Jim Monaghan of Regina Police posted a picture of the scene on Twitter, stating: "Crash into fence, person, fence, car in driveway, then house!! Not good!"
To preserve potential evidence, police blocked off streets around the 200 block of Dalgleish Drive for several hours earlier today. Traffic has since resumed at around 2:40 p.m.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, using patrol officers as well as a collision reconstructionist. The public's help is being requested by police for any information on what happened.
