Estevan’s business community was given a crash course in how to handle some of difficult challenges they face as a result of the suffering oil and gas industry, on April 6.

The Floor Store has been a big part of Chris Tarnes’ life for nearly two decades. He started working at the business in January 1998, when he was 19 years old.

Jackie Wall, the executive director of the Estevan Chamber of Commerce, recently expanded her knowledge of the chamber network by graduating from the Chamber College Level 2 training program in Saskatoon.

The Estevan Chamber of Commerce hosted an event that directly addressed an anxiety that many in the Estevan business community have been facing in the last few years, overe where the oil and gas industry is heading.

The Torquay Community Club has received another donation as they continue to make upgrades to the village’s arena. The club received a $20,000 donation from Richardson Pioneer on March 24.

A significant portion of the business community sat down on, Tuesday, to hear about the changes that the Estevan Chamber of Commerce has undergone in the past year.

The new Â鶹´«Ã½AVern Plains Co-op grocery store in Oxbow is now open, and it has been well received by customers. A reception was held inside the store for the co-op’s staff members, board of directors and numerous dignitaries on March 17.
