Allison Holzer with the Estevan Arts Council said they were pleased to receive a number of applications for scholarships this year. The successful applicants received a certificate from the council, which will cover their expenses to attend a summer camp for up to $100.

Six local organizations were granted funds including the Bits and Pieces Quilt Club, Carlyle & District Food Bank, Carlyle District Lions Club, Carlyle Playschool Cooperative, Rusty Relics Museum and Sutherland Cemetery.

In 2015, the Carnduff Bark Park, the only Saskatchewan dog park southeast of Carlyle, was ready to go.

Passes to the regional parks can be checked out for a maximum of seven days, and renewals are not permitted.

Stacey Grimes Wempe, provided the Arcola Fair Society with $20,000 in memory of her parents, Mel and Margaret Grimes, and brother Clinton, to be used as prizes for the Junior Steer and Heifer Show, which had an impressive 132 entries.
