WEYBURN - Weyburn Tourism, and their partners Prairie Sky Co-op and Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast College, will host Pumpkin Lane, a new event for Weyburn, on Saturday, Oct. 29.

They are calling all residents, businesses, and organizations to get involved by carving pumpkins and bringing them down to Pumpkin Lane. It is an opportunity to showcase the beautiful trails in Weyburn, along with creatively carved pumpkins.

Pumpkin Lane will be held at First Avenue NE at Aylmer Street, along the Red Coat Trail loop around the Weyburn Community Dog Park from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

There will also be a Halloween selfie booth, and spooky stations with treats and prizes.

Pumpkins will be glowing and lined up along the trail, for a short stroll. There will be businesses handing out candy, so residents and families are encouraged to wear costumes.

Furry friends are welcome to join families as they walk, but are requested to be on a leash while going through the displays, and owners are to clean up any messes they may make.

Weyburn Tourism will have a limited number of free pumpkins available at their office, starting on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 11 Third Street.

Businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals are invited to bring down their beautifully carved pumpkins for the event.

All pumpkin entries will be entered in a chance to win a Halloween basket. Pumpkin drop off will be at the Pumpkin Lane location on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Businesses who are interested in handing out candy during the event should contact Weyburn Tourism at [email protected]. The business tent set up time will be 2 to 5 p.m.

There is an opportunity for all pumpkin carvers to pick up their submissions, after the end of Pumpkin Lane, from 8 to 9 p.m. Any pumpkins not picked up by 9 p.m. will be donated to a local farmer.
