ESTEVAN - Estevan fire crews were called to one of the hotels three times this week.
The first time a commercial fire alarm went off in a hotel in the northeast area on Wednesday at about 6:30 a.m. Crews responded. With no visible smoke or flame on the exterior, they entered and checked out the building. The fire panel was checked as well, but no cause for the alarm or any other emergency was found. So the scene was turned back over to the hotel staff, and crews returned to the station.
On Thursdays at about the same time, a fire alarm went off again. The same happened on Friday morning.
“After some pretty good investigation there, it sounds like there was a low water flow issue that was occurring at the occupancy that was causing it, for some reason, to trip the fire alarm panel. So the staff and managers at the hotel are currently working on that with the alarm companies and electricians to rectify the problem,” explained Estevan Fire Chief Dale Feser.
