ALIDA - It was Alida take-out fall supper on Nov. 7, where they handed out 120 suppers. Way to go ladies. It was a very delicious meal, as always. Only thing I wish now is that there would be another one again soon. I really did enjoy this one.
Lacie Nilsen of Estevan visited with her family Tim, Shelly and Ainsley for a while on Sunday and also helped her mother pack up and move some of the Haunted House paraphernalia into storage until it’s all needed again. Hopefully that will be in a year’s time. It is a lot of work but a great fundraiser.
Remembrance Day was Nov. 11. I do hope you took time to remember all those who fought in the wars, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice of all. I noticed the military banners on Main Street in Redvers – what a beautiful memorial and tribute to our fallen soldiers. We shall remember them.
The Alida Ladies Hall and Rink Auxiliary is holding their annual meeting on Nov. 17 and are hoping for a good turnout as they have new ideas floating around and hope for many volunteers to step up and help with these new ideas. We need your help.
If for some reason you aren’t able to attend but would like to help out, please give Lesa a call and give her your name as help is greatly needed to run our little community. If my age and health would allow it, I’d have my name on the list, but unfortunately I have to step aside and let the younger generation take over the reins.
Please remember to keep me posted whenever you have news on any happenings that are going on in and around Alida as well as within your own family circle. Simply contact me any time, either call 306-443-2496 or text 306-485-8561 or e-mail me at [email protected]. I will be sure to see that it gets into my column. I do appreciate all your input as it does help to make things interesting.
