ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service concluded an investigation into theft/fraud over $5,000, which resulted in charges against an Estevan man. He was subsequently released and will attend court at a later date to speak to the charges.

The same day, members arrested a 45-year-old Estevan man for assault. He was processed and released on conditions with a future court date set to speak to the charge.
While on patrol around 3:30 a.m., EPS members located two Estevan men in the industrial area of the city where several thefts have been reported. The individuals were observed to be in possession of break and enter tools and were subsequently arrested for possessing these items. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.

EPS also received two unrelated calls regarding abandoned bicycles. Police strongly recommend securing bikes with locking devices, so they are not easy targets for theft.
A woman was reported walking in traffic on Perkins Street. She was located and it was determined that she was attempting to flag down motorists for directions. She was cautioned about interfering with traffic and was provided directions to her destination.
A 911 hang-up call was received in which it sounded like the caller was in medical distress. Assistance from the service provider resulted in locating the individual and confirming that they were safe and not in need of assistance.
A well-being check was requested on a local resident. She was located and determined to be safe and in good health.
A woman contacted EPS requesting mental health assistance. Members attended to her location, and she was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for assessment.
A complaint of harassing communications was received by EPS. The matter remains under investigation.
