ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were busy on Halloween.
The EPS assisted the Estevan RCMP at their request for a single-vehicle rollover south of Estevan. Upon arrival, the vehicle was found on its roof with no occupants. A search of the surrounding area was conducted by the EPS, RCMP, Estevan Fire Rescue Service and Estevan Emergency Medical Services for possible injured victims. A further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported as stolen from a residence in Estevan.
The matter remains under investigation.
The EPS also responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 600-block of George Street. A driver of a westbound vehicle struck a parked car after experiencing a minor medical issue. No injuries were reported but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Also on Halloween, members were dispatched to an area in north-central Estevan where a male was reported to be bare-footed and wrapped in a blanket. Patrols were made throughout the area, but no one was found.
Members attended a north Estevan motel on the report of a male who entered and began causing a disturbance. He was located by police, at which time he was spoken to and warned of his actions.
A hit-and-run collision that occurred in south-central Estevan which resulted in minor damages. The matter remains under investigation.
A 62-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged for assault and uttering threats following a confrontation which occurred near the victim’s residence. He was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on Jan. 13, 2025.
Police received a call reporting a suspicious person in a semi-trailer unit on the east side of the city. Members attended, spoke with the individual in question and determined nothing criminal was occurring.
