ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members dealt with various calls early in the week, including breaches of release conditions, impaired driving, collision and more.
EPS members conducted a search of a residence to confirm compliance with release order conditions on Dec. 17. During the search, police located a replica firearm and edged weapon which contravened the subjects' conditions. The 39-year-old man and woman were arrested and transported to EPS where they were released on charges related to the breach.
The same day, the results of blood samples obtained earlier in the year during an impaired driving investigation were received by EPS, which indicated high levels of THC and cocaine in the driver's blood. Accordingly, the 39-year-old female driver was arrested and charged for impaired driving by drug and released with a future court date to speak to the matter.
Police also responded to a report of a suspicious man on Fourth Street and identified an emotionally disturbed 42-year-old man as the subject of the complaint. He was contacted by members and subsequently transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for assessment.
Police received a report of a wood-burning stove that was stolen from a residential backyard. The matter is under investigation.
Also this week, on Dec. 16, the EPS received a report of someone driving away from a central Estevan gas station without paying. It is believed that the incident wasn't intentional, however, the matter remains under investigation. The public is reminded to ensure payment is completed before leaving the fuel pumps. Obtaining a receipt will assist in ensuring this.
A collision involving two motor vehicles was reported at an intersection in east central Estevan. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and there were no injuries.
EPS members and EMS attended to a central Estevan parking lot on the report of a man lying on the ground on Dec. 18. On arrival it was determined that the individual had slipped and fallen, sustaining minor injuries. He was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The same day, members attended to a northeast Estevan apartment complex in response to a noise complaint. The male occupant was warned of the City of Estevan bylaw pertaining to excessive noise.
