ESTEVAN - Estevan was the latest community to have a barbecue provided by members of a union.
CUPE Local 726, which represents the city's unionized employees, held the barbecue at the Dennis Moore Centennial Park. Hamburgers and hot dogs were served by union members to the public.
Similar barbecues have been held elsewhere in the province.
CUPE hosts the barbecues to bring awareness about its members and what they do. Local 726 members handle such duties as repairing water breaks, operating street sweepers, making and maintaining arena ice, working at playparks and more.
